Pascale Poulin
PASCALE POULIN’s abstract landscapes are born from a playful work with the matter. Using wide Chinese brushes, spatulas, rags and other improvised tools, on canvas, wood or paper, she improvises each painting, constructing it little by little. Through the alternative search for thick and thin matter, for roughness and viscosities, the artist re-invents her technique and works acrylic colors into a variety of textures and application modes that the spectator discovers as he slowly approaches the picture. From this plastic game – active meditation on the natural elements and their transformations in nature – arise compositions that evoke the landscape.
